Peter Smith is a community activist, scientist and engineer. He served for about 12 years on the board of St. Clair Child and Youth Services and has helped organize the Sarnia-Lambton Science Fair for six years.
SPS Board Chair Kelly Ash said the decision followed discussions with Acting Chief Mike Federico and aligns with practices at other police services.
