Centennial Park Community Consultation Begins

Local residents are asked to come share their ideas on park features for Centennial Park.

The first of three community consultation meetings takes place this evening. (Wed May 27th)

Residents are invited to the Sarnia Bay Marina to give their input on the concept plan for Centennial Park.

Phase two and three of the $5.5-million project includes relocating the boat launch and parking, shoreline work, demolition of the DOW People Place and construction of a new rotunda at the park.

As part of Phase one of the project, a significant portion of the fencing around the great lawn will be removed next month.

The fencing was erected following the discovery of asbestos and other contaminants in May of 2013.

Tonight's public meeting gets underway at 6:30 at Sarnia Bay Marina. The next community consultation is set for June 9th.
