Golf Club Reminds Residents Of Warning System

Residents living near Sarnia Golf and Curling Club heard sirens yesterday afternoon.

Head Pro Jamie Parkinson says they activated their Thor Guard warning system, advising golfers of approaching thunderstorms.

One long, loud sustained siren blast warns golfers to get off the course or move to a safe area, until the all clear is signalled by three short blasts.

Parkinson says the Thor Guard system predicts, rather than detects lightning and is far superior to staff trying to monitor several different weather sites.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
