Weekend Rain Welcomed by Local Farmers

Over 50mm of rain (almost 2 inches) fell in Sarnia over the weekend. Environment Canada meteorologist Geoff Coulson says there were pretty significant amounts of rain right across southwest Ontario both Saturday and Sunday. [audio mp3="http://blackburnnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Coulson-1.mp3"][/audio] Up until Saturday, May was a very dry month with only 26mm of precipitation compared to 80mm normally. Coulson says looking ahead, we appear to be headed to another drier than normal period.

Windsor received close to 74mm or almost three inches of rain.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
