Corridor Funding Request Denied

An attempt to establish a heavy haul corridor to connect local fabricators to the Alberta oil sands has suffered a setback.

Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership General Manager George Mallay says the province has turned down their request for $150,000 in funding.

Mallay says local industry is still committed to help fund half the cost of Phase II of a feasibility study into the proposal.

SLEP provided Lambton County Council with an update and overview of recent initiatives, news and potential developments during Wednesday's meeting in Wyoming.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
