Robbery Suspect Arrested

The Sarnia Police Criminal Investigations Branch has made an arrest following a daytime break-in that happened May 14 around 11:30am.

Police say entry to the Southern Ave. residence was gained by prying open a side door window. A black safe containing a large amount of older currency and coins was taken along with personal documents.

On Wednesday, officers arrested a 23-year-old woman at her London home. A warrant to search her residence was obtained and, during the search, officers allegedly recovered some of the property reported stolen during the break in.

Police say a stun gun, pepperspray, a butterfly knife and small quantities of various drugs were also seized.

Amanda Grace DeLong is facing charges including break and enter, two counts of stolen property, three counts possession of a controlled substance and four counts of weapons possession.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
