Bridge Race Gets Underway Sunday

Sunday's YMCA-CHOK International Bridge Race will have a different look this year for the 38th installment.

The race will be under, rather than across Blue Water Bridge this year because of ongoing construction to the north area. Communications Manager Gerry Gillis says they will have a special guest present. [audio mp3="http://blackburnnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/Gillis-special-runner.mp3"][/audio]

Gillis says they expect about half the participants this year but adds the flat course attracted some new runners. There will be three distances to participate in, a 10km, 5km, and a 1km kids fun run with a super hero theme, where the kids get a cape and mask to run with. The first race gets underway at 8am near the cannon at Canatara Park.
