Grain Farmers Welcome Rain

The Chair of the Lambton Grain Farmers is pleased to see the wet conditions. Kevin Marriott says about 50 mm (2 in) of rain the last weekend of May, 15 mm last night and over 25 mm (1 in) this morning is welcome indeed. Marriott says the wheat crop, decimated by a wet fall, is doing better although the acreage is down. Environment Canada is forecasting a 60 per cent chance of showers or thunderstorms through Wednesday.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
