House Fire In Pt. Edward

The Pt. Edward Fire Department quickly extinguished a basement fire at a home on Helena St. late Monday afternoon.

Chief Doug MacKenzie says the $50,000 blaze is believed to have originated from a dehumidifier. He says the electrical authority continues to investigate.

The homeowner was home at the time but was able to make it out safely.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
