UPDATE: Suspect Sought In Stabbing

Police have issued an arrest warrant for a 37-year-old Sarnia man in connection with a stabbing in the city’s south end this week.

Constable Les Jones says a verbal argument between two men at a home on Alice St. around 11pm Wednesday, led to a 26-year-old man being stabbed.

The victim was taken to Bluewater Health and then transferred to London where he is listed in critical but stable condition.

Jamie Wells is wanted for aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.

Police say the two men are known to each other.

Constable Jones says an officer spotted the suspect in Germain Park around 11pm Thursday and a foot chase ensued. Police, however, were unable to apprehend the man.

Police say if you spot Wells, don’t approach him, call 911 to report the sighting.

Anyone with information is asked to contact city police or Crime Stoppers.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
