Knife Wielding Man Arrested

Sarnia police continue to investigate after security staff at a south end establishment was allegedly confronted by a man with a knife.

Constable Les Jones says staff at a business on Campbell St. were closing up around 2:30am Saturday when they came upon a man outside who had been allegedly assaulted by two males.

While talking with the victim, one suspect returned with a knife.

Jones says another unknown man then ran towards the knife wielding man and pepper sprayed him before fleeing on foot.

As police arrived on scene the knife wielding suspect also fled on foot. He was located and arrested a short time later near Whitmore St.

The 23-year-old Sarnia man is charged with possession of a weapon, four counts of assault with a weapon and four counts of uttering threats.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
