CANstruction Event A Success

Sarnia-Lambton's CANstruction, held in March, collected over 39,000 lbs of food and nearly 195,000 meals.

The local event placed 18th in the world for pounds of food collected and second in the world in total meals, a combination of food quantity and funds raised.

CANstruction.org revealed the top 25 cities in the 2014-15 competitions. Sarnia-Lambton and Toronto were the only two Canadian events on the list.

The 4th annual CANstruction at Lambton Mall was a friendly competition among 18 teams building structures made entirely of non perishable food.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
