The Sifton Properties official plan amendment and rezoning application recently denied by Sarnia City Council is headed to the Ontario Municipal Board.
The developer has filed an appeal after last month's decision at city council.
Sifton's plans included a small grocery store, a four-storey seniors complex, a small medical centre and possibly a restaurant to be located in the northwest corner of Modeland Rd. and Michigan Ave.
City staff recommended the application be denied because it's not consistent with provincial policy and doesn't conform to the city and county official plans.
A date for the appeals will be scheduled by the board.
