Sarnia Christian School To Undergo $1.2M Renovation

As students prepare to celebrate the end of another school year, Sarnia Christian School is looking ahead to a new beginning in September.

A ground breaking ceremony was held at the school Friday morning, to celebrate the $1.2-million in renovations that are slated to begin next month.

Work is being done at the north end of the building, originally built in 1958, that houses the school's library, staff and storage rooms

Principal Len Smits says the project has been in the works for about five years and is long overdue.

He says both staff and students are excited about the new facilities.

Smits says they're still working on site plans and permits with the city, but hopes demolition will begin in July and construction in August.

Over 130 students attend the school at the corner of Exmouth St. and Pontiac Dr.
