Bright's Grove Lagoon System To Be Upgraded

The City of Sarnia is moving forward with an upgrade to the Bright's Grove Lagoon system.

Stantec Consulting Limited has been recommended to complete the engineering preliminary work at a cost of nearly $458,000.

Mayor Mike Bradley says the hydraulic capacity was limited in retaining the community's sanitary discharge during the winter months.

Construction of a Submerged Aqueous Growth Reactor (SAGR) will begin in spring 2016 and will cost roughly $5-million.

The upgraded system will treat wastewater from urban limits of Bright's Grove, as well as the residential area along Lakeshore Road between Modeland and Brigden Road.

City council begins their open session Monday June 22 at 4pm.
