OPP Foot Pursuit Leads To An Arrest

A Sarnia man is facing a long list of charges after a police pursuit Tuesday afternoon.

Lambton OPP officers were called to a Nauvoo Rd. business in Alvinston around 12:15pm for a report of a stolen vehicle.

Within hours of the original complaint, OPP officers spotted the suspected vehicle in the Lambton Shores area.

Police followed the vehicle which allegedly sped away and was found stuck in a cemetary with the engine running. The driver had fled on foot into a nearby bush area.

The OPP Emergency Response Team and Canine Unit conducted a search, located and arrested the male suspect a short time later.

26-year-old Corey Devin Maness of Sarnia faces several charges including theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, personation with intent, theft under $5,000 and failing to comply with a probation order

He was scheduled to appear in Sarnia court Wednesday for a bail hearing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
