High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Cpl. David Belet is a SCITS grad and Canadian Forces Reservist.</p><p>
Belet, a reservist with the 1st Hussars, says he is proud to wear the scarlet tunic and bearskin headdress of the Ceremonial Guard of the Canadian Armed Forces, one of the most recognizable military units in Canada.
 
The changing of the Ceremonial Guard and its Pipes & Drums has been one of the biggest summer attraction at Parliament hill for over 50 years.
 
Belet says he's undergone three weeks of intensive drill training to learn the precision movements.  He'll take part in Ceremonial Guard appearances in Ontario over the summer.
