High Marks For Bluewater Health

Bluewater Health has earned its highest accreditation score in its history.

Accreditation Canada awarded the hospital exemplary standing until 2019, giving the hospital a score of 99.3 per cent.

A survey team reviewed the hospitals' programs and services, speaking with staff, patients and volunteers, gathering information on work life, safety, infection prevention and control, medication management, and communication.

President and CEO Sue Denomy says the hospital scored in the 90's during the last accreditation, but nowhere near as high as this time around.

The hospital met more than 2,000 national quality standards as well as all of its 29 required organizational practices.

Denomy says the work doesn't stop now, as new quality standards will continue to be released until they are reevaluated in 2019.
