Ontario's Special Investigations Unit says a 62-year-old Strathroy man was critically injured when a speeding vehicle crashed in Warwick Twp. Thursday afternoon. The SIU says a Lambton OPP officer, conducting radar on Confederation Line around 4:30pm, began to follow a westbound vehicle travelling in excess of the speed limit. Spokesperson Monica Hudon says the vehicle turned onto Sexton Rd. and a short time later, crashed into a field just north of Zion Line. Hudon says the unit is traditionally called in when police officers are involved in an incident where someone is seriously injured, dies or alleges sexual assault.
