Lambton Kent Middlesex Liberals To Name Candidate

Next week, Ken Filson will officially be named the Federal Liberal party's candidate in Lambton-Kent-Middlesex for the October election.

Filson, who works at the Libro Credit Union and has served on Middlesex Centre council, is the only person to apply so far.

Riding President Carolynne Griffith hopes he can follow in the footsteps of Ralph Ferguson who served as Liberal MP for the riding from 1980 to 1984, and from 1988 to 1993.

She says its time for a change and believes voters feel the same.

Filson will run against longtime PC incumbent Bev Shipley, NDP candidate Rex Issac and Green Party hopeful Jim Johnston.

The Liberal nomination meeting is set for July 28 at the Caradoc Sands Golf Club in Strathroy.
