High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

To help celebrate it's 30th anniversary, Corunna's Captain Kidd Days have expanded to a four day event.
Organizer Geoff Dale says things kick off this evening with an outdoor movie night at the Athletic Park.
Kids are invited to make cars out of cardboard boxes to be judged for prizes. Events kick off at 7:30pm with the movie aired at 8:30pm.
Friday at 7pm is the Miss Teen Corunna and Little Miss Teen Corunna contests.
The first of three bands takes to the stage at 9pm.
The parade goes at 11am Saturday with kids events all day long Saturday and Sunday. Fireworks wrap things up Sunday at 10pm.
