Local Projects To Receive Funding

Seven local projects are to receive nearly $459,000 in federal funding through the Canada 150 Infrastructure Program.

Sarnia-Lambton MP Pat Davidson says it commemorates Canada's 150th birthday in 2017 and helps boost economic activity through infrastructure investments.

$265,000 is earmarked for area trail development including the Howard Watson trail.

The Village of Oil Springs gets funding for accessibility upgrades, Point Edward's waterfront park will be expanded, a roof will be replaced at the Enniskillen Community Centre, and a splash pad is to be installed at the Wyoming pool.

Due to limited funding, Sarnia's applications for Centennial Park and Clearwater Arena were denied.
