Fire At Colborne Rd. Apartment Building

Sarnia police, firefighters, and EMS responded to an apartment fire at 880 Colborne Rd. just north of the Hwy. 402 overpass Friday afternoon.

Smoke was seen coming from a single 7th floor apartment at the southwest corner of the building.

Police say there were no injuries.

Colborne Rd. was closed for awhile but reopened by mid afternoon but fire crews remained on scene to monitor the situation.

The cause of the fire or extent of damage was not immediately known.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
