Fatal Stabbing Victim Identified

The victim in the city's first homicide of the year has been identified.

19-year-old Brandon Leigh Ramboer of Sarnia was fatally stabbed at a home in the 100-block of Ontario St. July 24.

The accused, a 17-year-old Sarnia male, cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

He's scheduled to appear in court via video August 27. The teen is charged with second degree murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public and trafficking of a controlled substance.

A 22-year-old Sarnia man also suffered multiple stab wounds in the incident. He was treated at a London hospital and released.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
