Sarnia Fire Aids Boater

Sarnia Fire and Rescue Services came to the aid of a man whose sailboat overturned on the St. Clair river Thursday afternoon.

Platoon Chief Bill Sheane says they happened to be on the water at the time.

Sheane says it's the third time they've rescued a boater in distress while conducting training exercises. It happened once last fall and twice this year.

He says the man was uninjured because he was wearing a life jacket.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
