Farmers Welcome Warmer Weather

This warm, dry weather is just what Lambton county farmers were hoping for.

Lambton Federation of Agriculture Grains Committee Chair Kevin Marriott says both corn and beans had a rough start to the growing season because of excessive rain.

A warm, dry fall also means that more winter wheat can be planted.

The record breaking cold of last winter, combined to an unseasonably wet spring, severely impacted the amount of wheat planted.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
