Bayside Mall Special Meeting Today

Sarnia council considers withdrawing its court intervention in the proposed sale of the downtown Bayside Mall when it meets in special session Thursday morning.

Mayor Mike Bradley says it will be up to the courts to decide whether to allow the sale of the building to Wilsondale Assets Management, a Vaughn-based real estate company.

If the court approve the purchase, which is being recommended by the receiver, the company says it will take over the property within 30 days.

The asking price for the mall had been $1.5 million. It owes more than $1.1 million in property taxes.
