Council Withdraws Court Intervention

Sarnia city council will withdraw its court intervention in the proposed sale of the downtown Bayside Mall.

The decision was made in a unanimous vote at Thursday morning's special meeting.

Councillor Mike Kelch says the proposal by Wilsondale Assets Management looks promising.

The court will decide on August 26th, whether or not to approve the purchase, which is being recommended by the receiver.

Details such as sale price or the expected closing date have not yet been released.

If approved, Wilsondale Assets Management will take over the property within 30 days.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
