Funding Boost For Bluewater Health

Bluewater Health's Sarnia and Petrolia hospitals will be getting upgrades thanks to funding from the Ontario government.

The organization has secured $1.4-million over the next two fiscal years from the Health Infrastructure Renewal Fund.

COO Mike Lapaine says the money will be used for a number of areas including roof construction, window replacement and chiller and boiler work.

The funding is part of a $125-million commitment from the provincial government for 128 hospitals across Ontario. That's more than double the investment from a year ago.

Lapaine says that's a reflection of the aging hospital infrastructure in the province.
