Sarnia Man Charged With Racing

A Sarnia man has been charged with racing after Huron OPP stopped a vehicle on Bluewater Veterans Hwy. travelling 131 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.

Police say the Lincoln Navigator was pulled over around 8am Wednesday near Iron Springs Rd.

The 33-year-old man had his licence suspended and rental vehicle impounded for seven days.

He'll speak to the charges in Goderich court October 6.

Police say other penalties for aggressive driving include fines ranging from $2,000 to $10,000, six demerit points, up to six months in jail and up to a two year licence suspension for a first conviction.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
