Youth Faces Numerous Charges

A 14-year-old male is facing a long list of charges after an incident Thursday afternoon at the Inn of the Good Shepherd.

A staff member found the youth in the kitchen at the John St. facility after closing time around 4:45pm.

Constable Les Jones says when confronted, the teen allegedly produced a knife and began approaching the staff member.

The employee was able to defend himself and with, help from other staff, was able to subdue the teen.

When police arrived, a search of the youth allegedly uncovered items taken during a break and enter in Brights Grove earlier in the day, where a vehicle was also taken.

The teen is in custody charged with five counts of breaching probation, two counts of breach of bail, break and enter and assault with a weapon.

The 14-year-old accused cannot be identified under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
