City Staff Prepares Report On Aging Building

A decision will be made this fall on the future of the former Oakwood school on Lakeshore Rd. in Sarnia.

City staff is conducting a on repair costs and other alternatives for the aging structure which is now home to the Kinsmen Club and Kelly Van Gaver Dance Studio.

Mayor Mike Bradley says they've already moved some other tenants out of the building.

The Sarnia Kinsmen have been the main occupants of the site since the school closed in the 1980's.

The staff report is set to be reviewed by council this fall.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
