Black Comes Back In Sting United Way Game

Team Black erased a 4-0 deficit, tied the game in the final minute and won 7-6 in a shootout over Team White in the annual Black and White game Wednesday night.

Hayden Hodgson scored two goals including the tying marker and added an assist for the winners while Chase Campbell had two goals and two assists for Team White.

Patrick White scored the winning goal in the shootout.

The 10th annual event raised $2,990 for the United Way of Sarnia-Lambton, twice as much as last year.

There was a community pep rally in the RBC Centre parking lot prior to the game and Mayor Mike Bradley formally introduced new Sting owners Derian Hatcher and David Legwand to the city.

The Sting OHL preseason begins this weekend with a home and home series against the London Knights. The teams play at Budweiser Gardens Friday night and at the RBC Centre Saturday night. New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
