New Music Festival At Canatara Proposed

Sarnia could have a new music festival added to its activity line-up next summer.

Organizers of the Revelree Music Festival produced a very detailed report for city council to discuss at its meeting Monday.

Mayor Mike Bradley says the word "revelree" is defined as 'lively and noisy festivities."

The one-night music festival, proposed for Saturday July 23, 2016, would be the first ticketed concert in the middle field of Canatara Park and is expected to bring in crowds of up to 17,000 people.

The rest of Canatara Park would remain open to the public free of charge at all times during the festival.

Organizers say they will bring in a worldwide top selling artist to the stage, although it's not yet known who that artist will be, what type of music will be played at the event, or who the target audience is.
