RBC Sponsorship Of Sarnia Rink To Expire

The City of Sarnia is looking for a new sponsor for the Sarnia Sports and Entertainment Centre.

RBC has informed the city it wants its name off the building before the contract expires September 30.

Mayor Mike Bradley says city staff will have the signage removed before the Sting's first regular season game September 25. The facility will revert to the former SSEC name until a new corporate sponsor can be found.

Mayor Bradley says there are no active negotiations for a new naming partner at this time.

In the meantime, the Sarnia Sting has announced RBC will be the official team presenting sponsor for this season and next.

As part of the agreement, hockey teams in the Sarnia community will have the chance to have Sting players attend their practices.

The RBC-Sting Minor Hockey Mentorship Program is designed to support grassroots hockey and give young players the opportunity to meet their local role models.
