Terry Fox Run at Canatara Park

The annual Terry Fox Run is this weekend.

Organizer Laurie Rome says it's the 35th year nationally, the 34th in Sarnia, raising $1,157,000 locally throughout the years.

She says while donations remain steady, they aren't seeing the same number of participants.

Despite the lower numbers they raised over $84,000 last year, Rome says they're expecting about 350 participants this year.

Registration is at 8 Sunday morning at Canatara Park, with 5 and 10 K run/walk/roller blade events getting underway at 9.

Money raised goes to the Terry Fox Foundations which focuses on Cancer Research.

The Terry Fox National School Run Day is Wednesday, September 30.
