Snowbird Flyover Honours Golden Hawk (GALLERY/VIDEO)

Canada's Snowbirds Aerobatic Team roared across Sarnia Tuesday afternoon.

The familar red and white jets flew over Germain Park in tribute to the refurbished and rededicated F-86 Sabre Golden Hawk memorial. Restoration Project Co-ordinatior Mark Seibutis says it's special to be recognized by the Snowbirds. [audio mp3="http://blackburnnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/09/Mark-1.mp3"][/audio] Scheduling difficulties and inclement weather grounded previous planned flyovers. Hundreds gathered in the park under bright sunny skies for the flyover.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
