Terry Fox Run Held At Canatara Sunday

Hundreds gathered at Canatara Park Sunday for the annual Terry Fox Run.

Leo Arts, who successfully went through cancer treatment in 2006, has taken part the past seven years.

The 84-year-old says family and friends travel down for the day, forming a team of about 40 members dressed in orange.

The run celebrated its 35th year nationally Sunday and the 34th in Sarnia.

5 and 10 K run/walk/roller blade events began at 9am.

Locally, the event raised over $84,000 for cancer research last year.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
