PM Rallies Sarnia-Lambton Supporters (Gallery)

Stephen Harper rallied his supporters in Sarnia-Lambton Sunday night at a campaign stop at LamSar Industrial Contractors.

Party faithful gathered at the Plank Rd. plant roared with applause when Sarnia-Lambton Riding candidate Marilyn Gladu introduced the prime minister.

Incumbent candidate Bev Shipley in neighbouring Lambton-Kent-Middlesex Riding and various other well known Tories were on hand including retiring MP Pat Davidson who was recognized for her many years of public service.

Harper used the LamSar backdrop to reinforce his message that the economy can't be left in the hands of the NDP or Liberals.

Placard-carrying demonstrators representing unions and those opposed to the loss of home mail delivery lined Plank Rd. outside LamSar but were kept well away from the carefully orchestrated, heavily secured event.

There was no opportunity for questions from media after.

It was Harper's first visit to Sarnia since 2009.
