2015 Campaign Off To A Great Start

The Sarnia-Lambton United Way fundraising campaign has already raised over $750,000.

Executive Director Dave Brown says the 2015 campaign officially kicked off only a week ago with the annual "Day of Caring".

Brown says with two big fundraisers planned for October, the Pembina Foosball Tournament and the Locally Lambton Dinner, he hopes to be near 50 per cent around Thanksgiving.

The United Way of Sarnia-Lambton funds 22 member agencies which provide 35 programs and services to area residents.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
