OPP Investigating Ipperwash Incident

A Stony Point man was rushed to Bluewater Health Sunday with serious burns to his body.

61-year-old Pierre George suffered the injuries during a protest near the former Ipperwash Army Camp yesterday afternoon.

Lambton OPP Constable Travis Parsons says the Crime Unit is investigating the incident.

Pierre George is the brother of Dudley George who was shot and killed by police in September 1995 when a Kettle & Stoney Point splinter group occupied Ipperwash Provincial Park.

Sunday's incident happened during the "Going Home Walk", marking ratification of the $95-million Ipperwash Final Settlement agreement between the Chippewas of Kettle and Stony Point and the federal government.
