Police Recover Stolen Copper Wire

Lambton OPP are thanking an alert motorist for helping them track down three Corunna residents wanted in the theft of copper wire Friday morning.

Police say they were told of a suspicious vehicle traveling north on Highway 40 in St. Clair Township.

The OPP located the suspect vehicle a short time later on Degurse Dr. in Sarnia where it was stopped. Two males, aged 29 and 40, and a 25-year-old female were found in the vehicle with about 20 spools of copper wire.

They face charges of break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and possession of a schedule one substance.

Both men will appear in Sarnia court December 7. The female had a bail hearing on Saturday.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
