Lambton OPP are thanking an alert motorist for helping them track down three Corunna residents wanted in the theft of copper wire Friday morning.

Police say they were told of a suspicious vehicle traveling north on Highway 40 in St. Clair Township.

The OPP located the suspect vehicle a short time later on Degurse Dr. in Sarnia where it was stopped. Two males, aged 29 and 40, and a 25-year-old female were found in the vehicle with about 20 spools of copper wire.

They face charges of break and enter, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and possession of a schedule one substance.

Both men will appear in Sarnia court December 7. The female had a bail hearing on Saturday.
