Local MPP Launches "Death Tax" Petition

Lambton-Kent Middlesex Conservative MPP Monte McNaughton has launched an online petition in hopes of overhauling Ontario's Estate Administration, or so-called "death tax".

McNaughton says the $143-million tax is "a government cash grab on grieving families".

He's calling for a cap on the tax, and to make estates below $50,000 and charitable donations exempt.

The petition, which will be debated in the legislature Thursday, can be found at www.monte.ca.
