OPP Investigate Two Pedestrian Collisions

Lambton OPP officers are investigating two low impact collisions this week between vehicles and pedestrians including a person in a wheelchair and a child in a stroller.

At about 9am on Thursday, there was a collision involving a car and two pedestrians at Petrolia Line and King St. in Petrolia. The pedestrians, including an 18-month-old child, were treated at hospital for minor injuries.

On Wednesday, at about 4:15pm a pickup truck and two pedestrians, one in a wheelchair, came into collision in Watford at Nauvoo Rd. and Erie St. The pedestrians were treated for minor injuries.

Police say, in each case, the vehicles had come to a stop and were starting to make a turn when the collisions occurred.

The OPP is reminding motorists to be aware of designated crosswalks and intersections where pedestrians may be crossing and remind pedestrians to be vigilant as well.
