United Way Campaign Almost Half-Way

Its just two weeks into the Sarnia Lambton 2014 United Way campaign, and already its almost half way there.

Executive Director Dave Brown says they have raised $860,000 or 45 per cent of the $1.95-million goal.

He says they're hopeful they will hit the 50 per cent mark very soon.

The United Way of Sarnia-Lambton funds 22 member agencies which provide 35 programs and services to area residents.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
