Federal Candidate Lists Finalized Wednesday

Confirmed candidate lists for the October 19 federal election are final as of Wednesday at midnight.

There are four vying for the seat in both the Sarnia-Lambton and Lambton-Kent Middlesex ridings.

In Sarnia-Lambton, Marilyn Gladu is looking to retain the seat for the Conservatives after the retirement of long time incumbent Pat Davidson.

Jason McMichael is running for the NDP, Dave McPhail is representing the Liberal Party and Peter Smith is on the ballot for the Green Party.

In Lambton-Kent-Middlesex Riding, the candidates are Ken Filson, representing the liberals, Rex Isaac of the NDP, the Green Party's Jim Johnston and incumbent Conservative Bev Shipley.

Polls are open from 9:30am to 9:30pm election day, Monday October 19 and four days of advance polls are set October 9 through Thanksgiving Monday October 12 from noon until 8pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
