Brights Grove Development Dependent On Sewage Upgrades

Upgrading capacity of the Bright's Grove Sewage Lagoons is a key component of a proposed residential development in that area.

A local consortium wants to build 60 single detached dwellings and 17 townhomes on the northern part of Bright's Grove Golf Course north of Cow Creek.

Monteith Brown Principal Planner Jay McGuffin says James St. will be widened and the course clubhouse moved with an access proposed on Lakeshore Rd.

McGuffin says they continue to work with the city and county on the 12.7 ha (31 acre) development and will hold more public meetings.

No development applications have been filed yet.

The city recently received approval for $30-million of senior government funding for infrastructure upgrades including at the Bright's Grove Sewage Lagoons.
