Village Considers Reconstruction Project

The Village of Pt. Edward is holding a public meeting to gather input on proposed reconstruction of St. Clair St. and part of Lite St.

The plan is to replace watermains, and rebuild the roadway, curbs, gutters and sidewalks.

Village CAO Jim Burns says they're also looking at the possibility of narrowing St. Clair St. from four lanes to three between Helena St. and Alexandra Ave.

Burns says the projects could cost upwards of $3-million. He's hopeful they'll get underway in either 2016 or 2017.

The meeting is scheduled for October 20 from 4pm until 8pm at the Pt. Edward Community Hall on Monk St.
