Dead Fish Found In Storm Water Pond

Residents in the Blackwell Glen Park area are expressing concern after dozens of dead fish were located in a nearby storm water pond.

The pond is undergoing maintenance and had to be drained.

Sarnia City Engineer Andre Morin says carp, goldfish and koi were affected.

Morin says the carp likely got into the water through bird feces. Koi and goldfish could have been put in there by humans.

Morin says the work has been slow going overall. He says they've run into some technical issues that have delayed the project.

He's not 100 per cent sure when the work will be done. There's no cost estimate at this time.
