Sarnia's mayor is pressing Bluewater Health for more information on a long-awaited withdrawal management facility in town. Mike Bradley has written a letter to the chair of the hospital board requesting a status update. He says it's been an ongoing need for 15 years now and says it's time to get the ball rolling. [audio mp3="http://blackburnnews.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/Mike-3.mp3"][/audio] Mayor Bradley points to the fentanyl patch for patch program and numerous drug arrests as an example of the need. The hospital indicated in May that two developers had submitted expressions of interest with several suggestions for design/build opportunities. Bluewater Health had asked for $9.9-million from the Local Health Integration Network for the proposed 22,000 sq ft., 16-bed residential facility. Bradley is hopeful the centre will be operational next year.
